Randy Cabreros and his ‘Ohana have been putting meat on the table for over three decades. With 8 years at Molokai Livestock Cooperative (MLC) USDA facility, over 24 years of Meat Cutting experience and 30 years in the Food industry, you’d be hard pressed to find a more trusted hand for your livestock. He learned the craft of butchery working at Molokai’s Misaki’s Grocery and Dry Goods from his late mentor and store owner, Mike Misaki. He remembers fondly in 1991, when Mike Misaki got him out of work as a stockboy on a late afternoon to go on his first deer hunt.
Randy currently manages the MLC USDA facility and operates alongside his wife an animal control and USDA Venison Harvesting program for Molokai Axis Deer called Accurate Venison Solutions. They work tirelessly and efficiently to relieve pressure on pasture lands suffering over grazing from Invasive Axis Deer. With the cooperation of both the USDA and sustainably minded landowners, the Cabreros ‘Ohana have been able to supply small quantities of high quality Molokai Axis Deer to local markets.
Molokai Livestock Cooperative consists of ranchers, responsible land managers, small business owners, butchers and concerned community members that believe in a food system that supports local production and consumption. They believe in minimizing environmental impact while still supporting economic growth.

Practices
MLC is a federally inspected USDA slaughter and processing facility for both commercial and home use needs. Their diversified staff is trained in humane handling techniques and dedicated to the mission of producing high quality products. There are six local ranchers that are active members in their co-op including the Molokai Homesteaders Livestock Association (MHLA) and Molokai Ranch.
